Lord, Our Eyes are on You

This passage has resonated in my heart for this season. Jehosaphat found himself in a bad situation. Just like us, he made some bad choices and was about to face an army of enemies that outnumbered the Israelites. He called a fast and stood before his people and poured out his heart to God. His plea for help struck a spiritual chord in my soul. “O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” (Wow!)
Sometimes we will find ourselves living in a season of chaos and destruction that was not caused by anything that we have done but resulted from outside influences. Perhaps your response has been like my son’s response, “Mom….It’s just not fair!” (lol….). But can I ask ya’ll a question? When is it EVER fair? Is it fair when your home is able to eat a decent meal, when another home can’t. Is it fair when you can afford the necessities to live, and another family can’t? Is it fair when the person in your family survives a traumatic life threating issue, but the other family didn’t? What is the definition of “fair” to you?
In this life, there will ALWAYS be a category of “the Have-Its and the Have-it Nots.” Some will have what they think they need, and some will want more than they have. The only thing that solidifies the fairness of both categories is that we ALL have the same choice to choose to serve a sovereign and All-Mighty God. He is a God who has no respect of your race, gender, title, or your financial status. And check this out…..when we find ourselves in a season of chaos and destruction, we can all call on Him at the same time, no matter where we live on the earth, and He will hear us! And we can use the same words as Jehoshaphat, ““….Lord, we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” Please read the rest of 2 Chronicles 20 to see the divine intervention God provided for Jehoshaphat.
Woman of God…stay focused by keeping your eyes on God. Trust Him.
For His glory…
