"IF....you love Me" John 14:15-24

Love is a word that is used so frequently. But do we really know what it mean? Before we were married, Lealand and I would constantly end our telephone calls with ,"I LOVE you!" We said it so much, until it replaced "Goodbye." But when we got married, we didn't just say the word "love", we began to experience "love." We experienced it because, the trials of life and marriage chipped away every ounce of love we thought we had for each other. We soon learned each others "love language." [NOTE TO SELF]:Just because you love someone or something, does not mean that things will be easy. You will find that when you learn to love God first, and learn to love God's way, no devil in hell or on earth, can break you. It's through the test and trials that we experience the unfailing love of God.

In John 14, Jesus told His disciples, "IF......you love me then keep my commandments.." I had to ask, "Well, Jesus, what's your commandment?" His response, "Keep my Word." In other words, Jesus is saying, if you love me be obedient to what My Word says. WOW! When we are obedient to His word it demonstrates our love for Him. I heard Professor Haywood say something that blew my mind. He said, "God's love language is our OBEDIENCE "
