God CAN Breathe Life into Your Dried-up Situation (Ezekiel 37:11-14)

During the summer, I was tempted to pull up EVERY dead and dried up plant in the yard. The heat and the lack of rain sucked the life out of the plants and the grass. I’m not much of a yard person, so I decided not waste water on plants that showed signs of death! But when the weather changed from extreme heat to some much-needed cool weather, I noticed how the rose bushes showed signs of life again. The roses begin to bloom again!

God told Ezekiel the Prophet to tell the Israelites, “I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves and bring you into the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves….I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,” says the Lord.” (Eze. 37:11-14). Israel (God’s chosen children) fell into a spiritual decline. Their sinful lifestyle was like “dry bones.” But God sent a message of redemption to let them know that even though they messed up, God had a plan in place to redeem them.

Just like Isarel, we mess up. But when we refuse to confess to God our sin, we will be like a dried-up rose bush... having buds and thorns with no sign of life. The best way to get back to living a fruitful and vibrant life is to confess and repent of our sins (1 John 1:9-10).

Listen, just because you mess up, it doesn’t mean that life is over. Don’t allow the enemy to keep you away from the things that God have ordained in your life. God is a gracious and loving God. If anything, He wants us to turn back to Him. But we got to get right with Him. Now just because He’s gracious, don’t take Him for granted!

So if you feel like you all dried up and lifeless, remember that God is able to breathe life into your dead situation. Make a decision to turn back to God so that you can experience a life of fruitfulness and victory.
