Faith Gives us True Grit

I have been reading a book about the life of the Apostle Paul. Paul was a hater of Christians before Christ knocked him off his "pride" horse on the road to Damascus. What I love about Paul is that, even though everyone knew his history before he accepted the call of Christ, he was even more zealous about preaching Christ. He didn't allow his past stop him from fulfilling his God-given purpose.

When we are serious about our Christian journey.... no gossip, no haters, no devil in hell can stop us from doing what God has purposed on our life. And you know what else? Sometimes, we are our worst enemy because we try to put our confidence in our self instead of trusting in God.

The author gave a definition of "grit". He said, "grit is defined as firmness of mind or spirit...unyielding courage in the face of hardship or danger." In other words, you still keep pushing even when times are hard. Life is hard , Saints! It's especially hard when you try to do things the right way. To be quite honest, our history as people of color.. NEVER had it easy. But our ancestors stood flat footed on their faith. Our faith gives us true grit.

So, is there anybody out there ready to display True Grit? Hold on my Sisters in Christ. Stand flat footed on your faith in God so that you will display True Grit.
