Psalm 30:5b “Weeping may endure for a night. But joy comes in the morning.”

As I reflect on life and all that it entails, I thank God for His continuous grace and mercy. Sometimes we can get overwhelmed at the challenges we face on the journey of life. Do you ever feel as if life is filled with a whole lot of “anothers?” Another job lay-off, another bill-collector calling…another death, another miscarriage, another marriage gone bad, another child lost to the streets, and the list goes on and on. Just when you are about to throw up your hands and give up, God whispers these words to you, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5b).

God is speaking these words of encouragement while you are in the midst of your list of “anothers.” He’s in it with you. You are not alone. Hard and tough times are allowed in our lives for a purpose. It doesn’t feel good, and it sure doesn’t feel like God is in the mix of it. But trust, me… God is still in control.  Perhaps the lesson for us to learn is to trust HIM even when you can’t see His hand. Paul encouraged the believers in Corinth with these words, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:17-18).

I want to encourage those who feel like their life is filled with a list of “anothers.” Sometimes life is like learning to ride a bike. You try to balance it and peddle at the same time, but you keep falling. But when you continue to get back up and try again, you’ll find yourself riding without holding on to the handlebars!

Woman of God…Get UP!  Wait on God. Trust in His word. Pray and ask God to put someone in your circle who can mentor you and listen to you in a spirit of love. I know it may not feel like it right now, but God’s word is encouraging you and He's letting you know that your weeping may endure for the moment, but in due time, if you keep trusting God, joy WILL come in His timing. Don’t give up. If you hold on, you will have a “sorrow producing joy experience.”

For His glory….
