Philippians 2:3-4
You walk into your office and hear your name being slandered. You want to slap them in the mouth, but Don’t Do It!
You spent your last penny getting that child those new pair of sneakers, only to find them covered in mud. In your anger, you want to throw the child in the mud, but Don’t Do It!
After years of dedicating your time and love to a man only to discover he’s committed to another woman. You want to go postal on both of them, but Don’t Do It!
After 30 years of service on your job and being promised that you will get the promotion. One day, you open the envelope on your desk with anticipation of a promise being fulfilled. But it’s a pink slip announcing your termination. As rage fill your heart……by all means, Don’t Do It!
Life is filled with swift transitions. Many times, we experience more downs than ups. But despite the appearance of our situations, we can have hope because we serve a God who never changes. Paul told the Philippians, "Don't be selfish, don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don't look out only for your own interest, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had." What kind of attitude did Christ Jesus have? "He gave up His divine privileges and took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. He humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's death on a cross" for you and me (Phil. 2:3-8)." In all that Jesus allowed Himself to go through, the Bible said that "God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him a name above all names." Woman of God...there is purpose for everything we go through, but you will never know your purpose if you don’t see it through.
Don’t allow the enemy to cloud your spiritual vision with hopelessness and depression. Don’t Do It!
Don’t allow your responses to situations and circumstances cause you to miss the blessing that God have for you. Don't Do It!
So, when you feel like throwing in the towel on that job, when you get tired of that wayward child, bad relationships or even when you get tired of yourself, remember these three words: Don’t Do It!
To God be the glory.
